Something Borrowed Unveiled

Now here at Something Borrowed we are all about the main deal, the dress, but alongside this we recognise that your wedding dress, can be elevated when paired with the right accessories. We love to meet all your bridal wear needs so are thrilled to broaden our offer and cater for all of our brides with some exquisite accessories available for rental.

We truly believe that when renting your wedding dress, exploring and choosing a careful selection of accessories to adorn yourself with, gives you the opportunity to make that dress your own. As the famed fashion designer, Oscar de la Renta, once said ‘A woman makes her outfit her own with accessories’. Yes to that!

In keeping with our mission of offering a bridal wear service that not only reduces the amount of bridal wear waste, but also offers value for money, we recognised that veils are another of those bridal items that get very little wear, only to be packed away and never used again. So if you are hiring a dress from us, why not consider also hiring your veil? Or perhaps you have bought your dress and wish to try out bridal wear rental for your veil? It is the perfect way to have that look for a few hours on your big day - of course for those all important photos - without feeling any guilt when you decide to remove it for the remainder of the day. We are super excited to share two fabulous brands with bridal accessories that won’t fail to inspire you.

Firstly we welcome Botias, a range of luxury pieces that add real beauty to a brides overall look due to their high quality - something we never compromise on here at Something Borrowed. The Botias modern vibe compliments our range of on-trend, yet timeless, dresses making this a partnership made in heaven. In particular, we feel the pearl and bow range offers our contemporary brides the opportunity to select accessories that showcase your true self, adding your unique style to complete your wedding day outfit. We have also carefully handpicked a range of Botias jewellery that will be available to purchase soon.

Our founder, Christie, says ‘It’s very important for us to work with brands who enable us to expand our offer, and who align with our ethos of offering an alternative to the traditional bridal wear industry through rental, and Botias certainly does that’.

We also welcome Love Lane London, who hand make a range of stunning veils in the big smoke. We just adore their pearl and wispy tulle creations that are designed and made with the mission to enable brides to truly express themselves. Once again, we cherish the correlation in our approach to bridal wear and salute their founder, Gift, when she explains that ‘All our pieces are made in London with the desire to be loved, re-styled, then passed on to be loved again’.

When choosing your accessories we feel there are some key things to consider. As Boe, the founder of Botias, states ‘The pieces you decide on should create a harmonious balance for the overall look, without detracting from the rest of the outfit’ and we agree, as it is important to ensure your dress is not overshadowed. We recommend starting by thinking about your style and what represents you. Are you wanting something subtle to gently compliment your dress or do you want to add some drama to a simpler silhouette? Your accessories can also be used to switch up your look, perhaps signifying the transition to the evening element versus the daytime. Finally we would also advise to consider the setting and schedule of the day to ensure your accessories fit with this too, as whilst a cathedral length veil will wow as you walk along the aisle, it may just be an added stress for that beach ceremony. As always, the team here at Something Borrowed are always on hand to aid in your decision making, you can contact us to discuss your bridal wear hire, or follow us on Instagram and drop us a message any time.
