They say love is blind. At Something Borrowed we prefer to think that love is all seeing but has a realistic viewpoint that nobody, or nothing, is ever one hundred percent perfect. In fact, accepting your partner's imperfections, embracing them, even holding them dear, is true love.
Marriage is a commitment to one another that you will always try to be your best, and also work to support your partner to be their best too. Marriage is an adventure, a journey of growth, through all of life's highs and lows.
Our mission is to mirror these values in all that we offer at Something Borrowed. We make a commitment to you that we will always try to be our best and always work to support you in being your best for your very special day.
In return, we ask that you support us to be our best too and understand that rental garments come with a history, a back story. Much like yourself and your partner, with your previous adventures that have led you to this point, to each other, our dresses have been worn by brides and bridesmaids before. We take great care with our garments; they are always professionally washed by our partner Oxwash and repaired to the highest possible standard. Like true love, there may be small signs of previous wear that we cannot remove. We embrace these as part of the dress's history, a mark in time remembering the previous love stories that it has been a part of, even celebrating it. We hold dear the thought that every wear of a dress tells a love story.
We know our Something Borrowed brides are looking for a more sustainable option, both in terms of the cost of the dress to yourself and the planet. It might be seen as an alternative option, whichever way you view it, we ask that before proceeding you feel comfortable with the knowledge that our dresses have had previous lives and therefore may carry some history. That history adds to the ethos that love is love, even with imperfections.
We are seeing that the trend for clothing rental is growing and growing as we are all more mindful of our budgets and the earth's environmental status. If you want to explore the idea further then why not read how it works here, a guide to all things rental with Something Borrowed.
